Charity - Donate a Prom Dress

Hi everyone!
As you know spring is approaching and it is time for prom bashes. Teenagers around the country are looking forward the big event. Girls especially are looking for their perfect dress. However, it is not every girl who is able to afford to buy her dream prom dress. Fortunately, there are some charities around the country that try to help those girls.

This year Style My Bridal which is an online bridal store became a collection partner for Belle of the Ball, a Boston-based charity that collects and distributes dresses to high school juniors and seniors who otherwise could not afford to attend their prom. Anton's Cleaners donates all of the dry cleaning and other partners supply shoes and jewelry. Approved recipients attend a Boutique Day hosted at Simmons College. They select a dress and volunteer seamstresses make alterations if necessary. In 2014 there were 400 girls who attended and selected from among 2,000 dresses.

We have collection spots set up in 3 places in MA and 2 spots in NYC. They're listed here. If you are interested in collecting dresses from family and friends in another area, let us know and we can work something out.

Also, if you know anyone who needs a dress, there are directions on the Belle of the Ball site to apply for one!

Dresses:

• Should be something a high schooler can wear to the prom (trendy, stylish)
• Can be any color, any style and any size!
• Don't need to be dry cleaned - Anton's Cleaners will do that

Como voces sabem a primavera está chegando aqui no hemisfério norte e nesta época acontecem os bailes de formatura (os famosos proms). Adolescentes de todo o país já estão ansiosos para o grande evento. As meninas, especialmente, estão à procura de seu vestido perfeito. No entanto, não é toda garota que  pode se  dar ao luxo de comprar seu vestido dos sonhos. Felizmente, existem algumas instituições de caridade em todo o país que tentam ajudar essas meninas.

Este ano a empresa Style My Bridal uma loja de vestidos e acessórios para noivas se juntou a Belle of the Ball, uma instituição de caridade com sede em Boston que coleta e distribui vestidos para estudantes do ensino médio que não poderiam pagar para ir à sua formatura. A empresa de lavanderia Anton’s Cleaners doa toda a limpeza dos vestidos e outros parceiros fornecem sapatos e jóias. As meninas aprovadas são recebidas em um dia especial chamado Boutique Day que é realizado no Simmons College. Lá elas escolhem seu vestido e costureiras voluntárias fazer alterações se necessário. Em 2014, foram  400 meninas matriculadas que puderam escolher seu vestido dos sonhos entre 2.000 vestidos doados.
