Fashion - It is spring in the Southern Hemisphere

December 11, 2014

Here in the Northern Hemisphere we are experiencing some cold temperatures. Now my readers in the Southern Hemisphere, particularly in Brazil, are enjoying warm spring weather.
My favorite season is spring. The days are longer, the temperatures are warmer and our wardrobes are more colorful!
Last spring here in Boston I wore this beautiful one shoulder dress. It is a good option to wear to a cocktail party at the beach.

Electronics - LG OLED TV

November 1, 2014

What is the future of televisions? Some years ago when you wanted to buy a TV, the number of options included were limited. The most common things to look for were regular specifications like size, price, and black & white or color.

Today it is necessary to choose among all sorts of specifications and features when you shop for a new TV. In addition to screen size and cost such features as resolution, contrast, and definition are usually part of the decision. Another critical choice is whether you want a LED, LCD or plasma TV.
Currently there is a fantastic new option which offers even more features. I recently had the opportunity to attend an LG Electronics event in which I viewed a demonstration of their OLED TV. It has more advanced features than I could have imagined were possible.
The first thing I noticed about this amazing TV was how stylish and thin it is. Its screen is curved and it is only 4.3mm thick, the same thickness as a pencil. I have never seen a TV so thin. The curved screen gives you the new option to watch your favorite show from any angle in your room without losing the picture quality.

Another special feature is the way the TV turns when you want to watch your favorite movie in a dark room. Because OLED displays do not require a backlight, pixels that are switched off are truly black, so OLED achieves deeper black levels and a higher contrast ratio. When compared to LCD (liquid crystal display) TVs with conventional cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL) backlighting, there is a quite a difference in the quality of the picture. The black of the screen doesn’t turn grey when you dim the lights in the room.

For sports fans the LG TruMotion 240Hz technology lets you enjoy sporting events and high-speed action with enhanced clarity. Expect even the fastest action to be dependably crystal clear and virtually blur-free.

For me the most extraordinary feature of this TV is that it has most of the smart functions found on a smart phone. It has webOS user interface features that allow instant access to your favorite apps. You can access your favorite apps instantly. It has a magic remote control that connects you with point & click, the scroll of a wheel, and the LG’s advanced Voice Mate feature with natural speech recognition. Yes, you can send voice commands to your TV, request to search for a special episode of a show, or find a film starring your favorite Hollywood actor! You can even control all your home entertainment devices with just one remote. Say goodbye to that pile of remote controls.

Do you want to know the cost of this TV? I was surprised to find that the price of the OLED TV was less than I expected. The cost of the 55 inch model is $ 3,499.

The audacious, unconventional scent is reimagined in N°19 POUDRÉ, introducing facets of crisp green woods and precious iris for a truly timeless effect. Fashion Trend - Stripes

June 25, 2014

I love stripes and they can not be missed in my wardrobe. I am in love with this ladylike black and white striped dress. The unconventional mix of stripes gives it a modern touch. The black and white stripe trend is really timeless. It allows you to go bold while keeping things classy and basic.

If you have concerns about wearing stripes, here are some tips on how to choose the right stripe pattern to flatter your figure.
Vertical stripes - The petite woman can elongate her figure with vertical stripes. If you are petite in height with full figure  keep the stripe vertical, and choose a smaller stripe. If you are petite and on the thin side, a bolder stripe will make you look a bit bigger.

Horizontal stripes - The slim woman who would like to look a bit more curvy can choose a bold, horizontal stripe.

Diagonal stripes - Most figure types can wear diagonal stripes. This option is especially good for the plus size women.
Thank you for reading it!

Dica de Perfume - Bottega Veneta Eau de Parfum - Bottega Veneta

Perfume - Bottega Veneta Eau de Parfum - Bottega Veneta

Bottega Veneta Eau de Parfum blends patchouli, oak moss, bergamot, jasmine, pink pepper and chypre notes. Bottega Veneta Eau de Parfum will be available in 50, 75 and 90 ml.
The fashion design house of luxury leather accessories Bottega Veneta launches its first fragrance in collaboration with Coty Prestige in 2011. Bottega Venetafragrance is described as a leathery, floral chypre, representing the scented signature of the house - the "invisible, private luxury."
Tomas Maier, the creative director, describes the inspiration for this creation: “An old house in the beautiful countryside in the Veneto region of Italy with rolling green hills, where we’re from. I envisioned a room with old wood floors, library walls and leather-bound books with the windows open wide, the breeze coming in and cut grass, hay, moss, garden flowers, growing through the room and everything mixing up. That’s where we started.” (wwd)
The nose of the composition is Michel Almairac from Robertet who blended notes of Italian bergamot, Brazilian pink pepper, Indian Sambac jasmine, oak moss, patchouli and Indian patchouli.
The face of the campaign is Nine d'Urso, the daughter of French fashion icon Inès de la Fressange and Italian art dealer Luigi d'Urso. The campaign was shot Bruce Weber in South Florida.
The perfume bottle is made of Murano glass (limited edition), decorated with a metal cap and a leather bow. The perfume extract, which comes in the Murano bottle, is available in limited numbers at Bottega Veneta boutiques around the world at the price of $ 395. The fragrance is available as 50 and 70 ml EDP with body cream, body lotion and shower gel for more broadly distribution.

Tea Gathering at Taj Hotel - Boston

April 25, 2014

On Sunday, April 13, I had the pleasure of attending a formal afternoon tea at the Taj Hotel in Boston. The event was organized by Nara Paz, a Brazilian designer who was previously interviewed for the blog. Nara invited a group of chic and powerful women from the New England area to meet and network together. The guest of honor was Kayla Harris, the 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist in judo.
We met in the hotel’s elegant tearoom which overlooks Boston Public Gardens. It was a perfect setting in which to exchange professional ideas, experience, and goals. The authentic British tea included tasteful selections of canapes and delicious petite sweets served on delicate Chinese porcelain. It was a wonderful afternoon and I cannot wait for the next gathering.

Hello fashionista the statement necklace is back, but did it really go away? These stunning necklaces are still one of the fashion lover’s favorite accessories. A stunning necklace adds the perfect finish touch for an evening of socializing with your friends.

Hints for creating the best looks with a stunning necklace

  • Invest in a large colorful necklace or choose a necklace made with gold, silver, or stones fora a more sophisticated look
  • Don’t wear karge earings with your necklace because this combination will overwhelm your look
  • Match your necklace with a neckline that will make it stand out. The best choices are strapless, off the shoulders or V-necked dressses or tops.
  • Wear your necklace with basic, solid color pieces sucha as a little black dress ir a white shirt and jeans

Winter Travel - Miami Beach

Espanola Way - a street where you can find some nice restaurants in South Beach
Italian and Brazilian restaurants at Espanola Way

This winter was really one of the most severe when compared to past decades with many days of temperatures below zero. Those of us living in the northeastern part of the United States suffered through many cold and sunless days. Fortunately, our country is large and it's easy to find a warm and sunny place to visit. Perhaps you don't have the time to go to the Caribbean. Don't worry because Florida has many great cities and beaches. In early March we decided to check it out. Chasing a promise of warm weather and sunshine, we traveled to Miami's South Beach. Our hotel was an Art Deco masterpiece which had a balcony view of the ocean one block away. Everything was within walking distance including many great restaurants and famous designer stores. South beach is where the fun happens!

Love!
