On May 17 the designer Nara Paz presented a sophisticated and beautiful collection of namesake brand at The Courtyard Restaurant at the Boston Public Library. The last four years the designer worked exclusively on custom-made signature tailored
coats, dresses, suits, pants, blouses, eveningwear and ultra-refined couture
gowns. At the presentation the designer showed twenty-four pieces including custom-made
couture, evening wear and ready-to-wear designs.

About Nara Paz
The
designer was graduated summa cum laude
from Lasell College in Fashion Design & Production and founded the label
Nara Paz in 2010. The label is succinctly described as modern
interpretations of classic silhouettes. It includes avant-garde signature-tailored
coats, dresses, suits, skirts, blouses, pants and ultra-refined couture gowns
and evening wear.
Nara Paz has been received numerous awards
during her career including the Lasell Gold Alumni Award, Improper Bostonian
Magazine’s Best of Boston Local Fashion Designer, and Fashion Group
International Boston’s Top Five Emerging Designers. She was also honored as Lasell
College’s Winner of Christy Proctor Rising Star Award and the BMW sponsored New
Generation Designer, New Zealand Fashion Week.

Paz Design House and Atelier is known for outstanding designs with notable
attention to detail and quality of craftsmanship. The brand works with the
finest couture fabrics available to provide ultimate customer satisfaction.

Colette, a vibrant, charming French bistro and wine bar was recently opened in Cambridge, Mass. The restaurant is named after Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette, a French author who was nominated for a Nobel Prize in Literature in1948.
I visited the restaurant and I believe it is a MUST-SEE
place. I enjoyed a delicious breakfast at Colette

On Saturday, October 13 the annual College Fashion Week was
held in Boston. The event was sponsored by
Her Campus, a media brand for empowered college women. It celebrated
diversity, confidence, empowerment and entrepreneurship. It featured the
must-have, buy-now fall styles. Forty college women walked the runway
showcasing looks from Primark, Ulta Beauty and more.

The Favreaulous Factory - Designed to inspire the senses and challenge new ways to think

On March 3, 2018, interior designer Steven Favreau and
entrepreneur Dennis Wyrzykowski launched The Favreaulous Factory. The space was
planned and developed in collaboration with FBN Construction LLC, Andrew
Sidford Architects, and Greg Premru Photography and included an extensive group
of experts. The Favreaulous Factory is housed in an 11,000 square foot
urban loft which is located in the heart of Boston’s Innovation and Design
District.

The open floor plan concept is a welcoming space which is
creatively designed and decorated with modern and antique furniture. When
entering the space, you are welcomed by a luxurious and exquisite
atmosphere. There are numerous antique
pieces that were shipped from Paris and Brussels. Another room features a large
and colorful collection of rugs provided by Landry and Acari.
The artist Chad Kilgore individually crafted captivating and
colorful glass panels for one of the two conference rooms. Artist Jason
Macdonald created a masterpiece with pops of vibrant spray paint flowing across
the floor and creeping up poles in the main area. Looking up, the ceiling
showcases a collection of twelve chandeliers and an enchanted installation of
Murano glass butterflies designed by the artist Deborah Rossetto. This space of
design and furniture houses an unparalleled collection of local and international
art. It was curated by the Lanoue Gallery in SOWA.

Designer Show House - The 1853 William Flagg Homer House

On Tuesday October 3, I was invited to attend the Boston Show House media day. The designers gave us a tour through the house and we had a chance to preview all the work and decoration they have done.
More than 20 rooms at the historic William Flagg Homer House have been given a complete makeover by the area’s top designers. The Homer House has been owned by the Belmont Woman’s Club since the 1920s.
The 1853 William Flagg Homer House has been owned by the Belmont Woman’s Club since 1927. The house, an architectural combination of both the Bracketed Italianate and French Mansard style, was originally owned by William Flagg Homer and his wife Adeline Wellington, uncle and aunt of American landscape painter Winslow Homer.
